If we were to all require a seasonal shopping trip to stay abreast of fashion, we’d be broke in no time. Many women rely on costume jewelry to augment costumes of seasons past in such a way as to appear to be the essence of current fashionable dress.

Trendy jewelry is a niche we should all exploit. In the world of fashion, trendy means the latest innovation, almost certainly a fad, but nonetheless something which places you in the land of the living instead of some sad has-been.

The very definition of trendy jewelry conveys a couple of messages to the world at large. First, the fact that you’re wearing trendy costume jewelry makes you hip, cool and imbues you with all sorts of other positive connotations in the fashion world. The second message is that you’re aware of these trends. You pay attention. This degree of observation is more than enough to keep you out of the old lady or otherwise uncool basket.

This is not to say that trendy jewelry is without merit. Costume jewelry, of the trendy variety, is a fun indulgence that livens up your wardrobe and is ever changing. If you can’t afford to update your closet with the latest fashions, or choose not to due to considerations of age and dignity, trendy jewelry is just a fun way to add some spice to your looks.

Surprisingly, a closet filled with classically popular clothing is the perfect foil for trendy jewelry. Classic cuts are typically simple and elegant, but they do stand the test of time and happily coexist with any number of jewelry styles. You can pair a string of pearls, bohemian styled beads, ornate Renaissance rings or trendy jewelry in the form of wild enameled Italian earrings with any of your outfits, to good effect.

You don’t have to be a fashion dud, just take costume jewelry as your fashion friend.

So what must you have in your clothing repertoire to mimic a fashionista? Recommended inclusions are simple garments of the timeless variety. Turtlenecks, flowing skirts, wrap dresses and harem style silk pants are a good beginning. Trendy jewelry is the perfect complement to such a wardrobe.

You can find trendy jewelry by picking up an issue of any of the big fashion magazines, like Vogue or Elle. Take your cues from their pages and then embark on a shopping trip, many stores has the abundance of choices. Trendsetting jewelry must be worn with confidence if you want to pull it off righteously, so choose the pieces you really like and pieces that fit you.

You do have another option. Be a trendsetter. Take a jewelry making class. Shop the retro and antique shops. Spot that unusual piece of costume jewelry at the crafts fair. You can set a trend that could set the heartbeat of Hollywood celebrities on fire. Why not?

Article by Van T, you can learn more about him at his profile

Pearls are just really lovely, aren’t they? They are like these small things wound to become something bigger and greater. A s simple as a single pearl, it becomes a rather great jewelry when woven with a number of others.

Pearls will be pearls. Like how classic fairy stories are, South Sea Pearls comes from a story where there are rough bumps in the beginning. They start from being a mere big South Sea oyster, with man making much of nature’s grace and abundance, then aiding the creation of such wonderful treasured gemstones. Farmers, with a mother of pearl bead in hand, implant them into oysters that are then irritated with the intrusion and deposit substances in concentric layers, and accordingly become the South Sea Pearl we now know of. Usually, these farmers are very much hopeful that what they will be harvesting will be this perfectly shaped pearl as its paragon. Although they usually do not get this and sometimes even getting seemingly deformed shapes as baroque, they usually are still very much happy with the results – given that South Sea Pearls are very much rare. Although chances of this are rarer than South Sea oysters, they usually are happy of their harvests, especially since formation of pearls are rare as they come.

Similar to other pearl jewelry, they come in different varieties, as they come in varying colors, as white, cream, silver, gold, black and taints of colored ones. Accordingly, they are known to grow in large sizes. This happens primarily because of the implants of the bead already big. Additionally, the composition of the South Sea Pearl, as its gonad larger, the oyster is able to deposit the nacre around the mother pearl bead at a faster rate, especially when we talk about those warmer waters working on the oyster’s metabolism.

Reportedly, South Sea oysters are among the largest of the oysters around that can get in those mother pearl implants. This, accordingly, is easily the reason why South Sea Pearls grow as large, as well.

Like other freshwater pearls, it takes time to cultivate them. But as we speak of South Seas, they are known to be well grown and abundant in the countries within the South Asia East Asia Region, as Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Japan and covering as far as Australia, as well.

Like gifts of the oceans, pearls are like wrapped surprises in boxes – only the boxes are the oysters. They are simple creations that, through the ingenuity and creativity of man, they become into something more than just simple. Man giving a hand to how these pearls become what they are, South Sea Pearls is a common example of merging man’s interference with the process of nature. Isn’t that such a beauty?

An Akoya pearl is considered as one of the most popular types of pearls of today which is basically grown and harvested through akoya oysters. These pearls are often cultured and harvested in the farms of Japan and China. Generally, an Akoya pearl is considered as the most lustrous of all pearls and this significantly elevates the quality of the pearl.

However, the pearl’s luster is only one of the five qualities that are being considered to determine the quality of the pearls. Among the other qualities are the shape, surface, size, and color.

Pearls are of various colors like white, silver, cream, champagne, gold, green, blue, black, and a lot more. Pearls usually have overtones that appear to be very evident from the pearl’s basic color. Akoya pearls are often white or cream in color accentuated with overtones like silver, cream, or rose. It is through the color of the pearl that a person is able to determine the best pearl for her.

The quality of pearl is also greatly influenced by its sheer size. Typically, a pearl with a larger size fairly has a much higher price. This is done by simply measuring the diameter of the pearl in terms of millimeters. But the Akoya pearls are relatively small in sizes as they are grown from the world’s smallest pearl-producing oyster. The average size of Akoya pearls range from 6-8 millimeters which is relatively smaller compared to freshwater, South Sea, and Tahitian pearls. However, the size of the pearls that is often marketed and sold today are that of Akoya’s.

However, the size of the pearls that is often marketed and sold today are that of Akoya’s. Basically, a pearl needs to have no spots, bumps, and discolorations in order for it to have a higher quality. The main advantage of Akoya pearls is that they are most of the time shiny and reflective which in turn provides them with a high quality.

Freshwater pearls also vary in their shapes. In some cases, pearls have ringed shapes, significantly flattened into a disk-like button, tear-drop shapes, and those that are known as baroque pearls. Pearls in baroque shapes are the ones that appear as abstract and asymmetrical. Perfectly round pearls are witnessed once in a while and are considered to be of highest quality. One good example is the Akoya pearl which often comes out to have round or near-round shapes. These main characteristics of Akoya pearls help elevate their quality. Today, Akoya pearls are the most sought after of pearls and are perfect when made into sets of jewelries.

Pearls are just really lovely, aren’t they? They seem to be these simple creations woven to become a bit more, or even a whole lot more, than just being simple. South Sea Pearls are among the most popular of the pearls created into nice pieces, as they are as most widely harvested cultured ones.

Pearls will be pearls. They will forever be favored and loved, as the story of the duckling turning into a beautiful enchanting swan. They start from being a mere big South Sea oyster, with man making much of nature’s grace and abundance, then aiding the creation of such wonderful treasured gemstones. How this works is farmers and those cultivating them insert a mother of pearl bead inside a South Sea oyster, which accordingly gets irritated by this foreign body, and deposits elements that become concentric layers that make of a South Sea Pearl. Oftentimes, these farmers and harvesters are hoping that they’ll produce this paragon of a perfectly round pearl – but as it goes, they remain a paragon. Nevertheless, they are satisfied with their harvests, although some do not necessarily come out in those unblemished shape.

Naturally, they are known to grow bigger than the regular pearls.

When it comes to size, South Sea oysters are regarded as the largest that can grow pearls. And because of this, South Sea Pearls grow much larger due to the room or space where in can grow.

Like other freshwater pearls, it takes time to cultivate them. These accordingly are known to be well cultivated in countries within and around South East Asia region like the Indonesian Archipelago, Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand, Japan and Australia.

Like gifts of the oceans, pearls are like wrapped surprises in boxes – only the boxes are the oysters. They are simple creations that, through the ingenuity and creativity of man, they become into something more than just simple. As man nurtures what is before him and accordingly allow nature to do its work, it seems like a partnership between them to bring such a treasure as the South Sea Pearl. Isn’t that such a beauty?

Wouldn’t you want to charm people and their discriminating tastes with just the wave your hand? If you have a pearl ring on your finger, even a quick hand gesture will just probably work for you. It is not just the ring, of course, that catches anyone’s attention. This merely complements the main feature, the centerpiece of the ring, which is the pearl. A pearl always gets the attention it deserves regardless of who is wearing it. Setting it in a first-rate ring, however, amplifies its beauty and worth.

Setting it in a first-rate ring, however, amplifies its beauty and worth. These do not come from inert elements but from the intercourse of sand and oysters on the seabed. In fact, every pearl is one of a kind since no two pearls are the same. At a glance, they may look like they are the same but, in fact, they are not. Therefore, every pearl ring is also exclusive. You can bet that someone else has the same ring design but you guarantee that your pearl is unique.

Just as you would always want to appear interesting and exceptional, pearl rings come in different designs. The pearls also come in different colors and sizes depending on the type. One can choose over cultured saltwater pearls or the cultured freshwater pearls. He can decide on taking the classic white South Sea pearls or on getting the modern Tahitian black pearls, which can also come in other dark colors. He must make sure, however, that he is not buying on of those Majorca pearls, which are actually manufactured and are not genuine at all.

Wearing a pearl ring does not just represent someone’s taste for aesthetic standards. While the sight of it captures admiration, it also reflects the wearer’s personality and more. The pearl stand’s for sophistication and it tells much about the owner’s penchant for anything stylish. A white pearl is also the favorite jewelry piece for weddings as it epitomizes purity. People who were born in June or under the Gemini zodiac sign are lucky to have the pearl as their birthstone.

Jewelries that have pearls as brilliant highlights have been cherished throughout history. Numerous songs, poems, and tales have been weaved in praise of these gifts from the ocean.

Magical stories have been told to children about it. Recent history has shown many kings and queens wearing pearls as a symbol of power. Today’s pearls are worn no longer just by a member of the royal family but by anyone who wishes to exhibit elegance and values.

Wearing one of nature’s best offspring on a finger is a definite magnet for admiration. Who would miss a well-known and well-loved jewelry piece such as a pearl embedded in a stunning ring? Of course, the magic is not in the metal ring whether it is high-grade gold or silver. This merely complements the main feature, the centerpiece of the ring, which is the pearl. Embed it anywhere; the pearl’s beauty will still stand out. Setting it in a first-rate ring, however, amplifies its beauty and worth.

The pearl is the only gem that is created by a living creature. A wonderful conclusion of the combined work of an oyster, sand, and sea, the pearl is a unique natural art. Each genuine pearl is unique in every way. They may appear similar but a closer look would confirm their distinctiveness. This makes any pearl ring just as exceptional. Of course, any skilled hand can copy the ring itself but not a single pearl can ever be replicated, not even by the oyster it originated from.

Just as you would always want to appear interesting and exceptional, pearl rings come in different designs. The pearls also come in different colors and sizes depending on the type. One can choose over cultured saltwater pearls or the cultured freshwater pearls. If you want to look elegant, you can have the white South Sea pearl or you can have the black Tahitian pearl for that mysterious and sleek air. It is not the real thing but some people buy Majorca pearls just to have the same effects.

Wearing a pearl ring does not just represent someone’s taste for aesthetic standards. Pearls are not only amazing; they also radiate your uniqueness and disposition as well. It confirms the wearer’s urbanity without having to be too loud and glaring. A white pearl is also the favorite jewelry piece for weddings as it epitomizes purity. It is also the birthstone for persons born in June or those whose birthdays fell under the Gemini zodiac sign.

Pearls have been the object of desires and pipe dreams ever since its beauty was discovered. Numerous songs, poems, and tales have been weaved in praise of these gifts from the ocean.

It was even believed that these have magical powers. Later on, royalties wear it to symbolize their nobility and to flaunt their wealth. Today’s pearls are worn no longer just by a member of the royal family but by anyone who wishes to exhibit elegance and values.

Grown out of Akoya oysters are Akoya pearls which are among the most popular types of pearls of today. These pearls are often cultured and harvested in the farms of Japan and China. Most of the time, an Akoya pearl has the highest level of luster making it as one of the most highly valued of all pearls.

However, the pearl’s luster is only one of the five qualities that are being considered to determine the quality of the pearls. Aside from luster are the pearl’s surface, shape, color, and size.

Size also plays a big role in the quality of the pearl. This basically means that a larger sized pearl is valued of a much higher price. This is done by simply measuring the diameter of the pearl in terms of millimeters. But the Akoya pearls are relatively small in sizes as they are grown from the world’s smallest pearl-producing oyster. The average measurement of an Akoya pearl often appears to be within 6-8 millimeters and is basically smaller in comparison with Tahitian, freshwater, and South Sea pearls. But then, most of the pearls that are being marketed today fall in the range of Akoya pearls.

It is also through the smoothness of the pearl’s surface that its quality is clearly stated. A pearl with a smooth surface usually has no bumps, discolorations, and spots. In most cases, Akoya pearls appear as shiny and reflective pearls which are an important factor in raising the quality of the pearls.

Freshwater pearls also vary in their shapes. They sometimes appear in tear-drop shapes, button shapes that are flattened into a disk-like button, ringed pearls, and the baroque pearls. Pearls in baroque shapes are the ones that appear as abstract and asymmetrical. However, the rarest shape of pearls is the perfect round shape and is often very expensive. An Akoya pearl usually come as round or near-round in shape. These main characteristics of Akoya pearls help elevate their quality. Nowadays, Akoya pearls are a crowd’s favorite and are considered as the perfect element needed in coming up with the finest of jewelries.
