There are many different styles of wedding rings on the market today from traditional styles through to very unique customized rings. Wedding rings are an important piece of jewelry; however, they aren’t the final ring in the set in many cases. Eternity rings are a popular gift that is added to the wedding set years after the happy day.
Eternity rings differ from anniversary rings in that they are typically given at any special event or date after the wedding rings. When wedding rings are ornate or very detailed, the eternity or anniversary rings can be rather elegant and simplistic in style. They are generally of the same color or type of metal as the wedding bands and rings, making a dramatic and beautiful presentation.
As with wedding rings, eternity and anniversary rings come in many different designs and styles. One of the most popular is called a half eternity ring, which uses the channel style setting around half of the ring. Diamonds can be intermixed with other precious or semi-precious stones in the ring or it can be all diamonds.
Unlike full eternity rings, half eternity rings can be easily sized since the diamonds only cover the front half of the ring. They are also very comfortable to wear with wedding rings since the stones are flush with the surface and don’t protrude to rub or pinch.
Wearing all three rings, the wedding rings and the eternity or anniversary ring, together is very popular and makes a striking presentation. For those that want a bit more dazzle to a plain wedding band, the eternity ring can be worn in the plain band’s place some or all of the time.
Adding an eternity or anniversary ring to the wedding rings can give an old set a completely new and up to date appearance. With the elegant style of the eternity or anniversary rings any style of wedding rings will be complimented by this additional part of the set.
